My Adventures

My good old 2007, F-150. I don’t care what people say or think about it. It’s been setup to go into the back roads of the mountains around me. It has nice chunky tires to run in snow, sand and mud. I like freaking Mama out when I take her cliff climbing down at Pacific City. It’s a STX 4x4, lifted a bit, it doesn’t have all the computers and automatic stuff on it. It’s a Pickup. Presently it’s great for hauling hay for the wife’s horses. Pulled our 28’ pull behind Trailblazer trailer when we go up in the mountains and yes, it burns through the gas.

My first F-150 was a 1992 that I bought new. I was living in Jemez Springs, New Mexico and working at Roadway in Albuquerque. A 110 mile round trip five or six days a week. I kept the truck ten years and put over 300,000 miles on it. My next F-150 I bought new in 2002. Same commute and put about 200,000 miles on that F-150. I now have been retired since 2009 and left Jemez Springs for Rio Rancho which borders Albuquerque in 2018. Now five years later I drive a 2018 F-150 that has about 33,000 miles on it.
The point of my story is the F-150 is a damn good pickup. Not fix or repair daily.

There's a reason they're the number 1 selling pickup.

No salt or calcium chloride.....makes a big difference

I’m trying to decide on a side hustle. Hot dog cart, tax preparation or hauling hay. I’ve been looking at Ford F-550’s, preferably with a 6.8 gas engine, used low mileage and hopefully a hydraulic dump on the flatbed.
I’d drive it, dump it and get the girls to stack it. I already have people that would have me haul for them.

All three. Plus if you add sides to the flatbed, you could deliver mulch which I hear is so easy to do……anyone can do it….:ROFLMAO::rolleyes:

After replacing the bed on my 06.... I'm considering one. I do use the bed in my trucks. I'm afraid that firewood will tear it up.... not really worried about dents. Spray in bed Liner will probably be the best solution.

How about sheet metal repairs, say you crumple a fender, can they repair it or it has to be replaced. I think aluminum is pretty hard to straighten and cracks.
